Specialized Experience

ASI is highly experienced in the conduct of vulnerability assessments and threat analyses. ASI works with the client, and local, state, and central government entities to develop threat assessments, and to ensure all aspects of the client's potential vulnerability are considered. These activities are key preliminary elements in the proper determination, with the client, of the security procedures, processes, and technical measures necessary to protect facilities and personnel.

ASI's ability to design security systems is based on an in-depth understanding of those systems. This type of understanding helps to ensure the proper design, installation, validation of design, monitoring of contractor performance, and test and acceptance of all security systems. This understanding, combined with our ongoing communications with organizations actively developing improved security technology ensures that the most appropriate technology, including recently developed items, is evaluated for each client's needs. ASI is also experienced in the development of manuals and the development and delivery of operator, maintenance, supervisory, police, and management training in the operation and maintenance of systems. This training helps resolve the problem of limited knowledge or incomplete understanding of the system design. ASI personnel have successfully developed security systems for airports, aircraft, office buildings, government buildings, residences, prisons, and subways.

In system design, ASI is highly qualified in:
  • system-level security procedures and practices
  • system-level security analyses and design
  • system-level engineering design
  • access control systems design
  • automated access control systems
  • video imaging, surveillance, and transmission technologies
  • computer assisted identification technologies
  • voice recognition technology
  • facial recognition technology
  • fingerprint scanning technology
  • hand geometry identification
  • iris scan identification technology
  • perimeter/intrusion detection systems, including motion-sensing systems for both interior and exterior use
  • specialized, e.g., aircraft, head-of-state intrusion detection systems
  • airport facilities design, e.g., buildings, baggage processing, etc.
  • explosives detection technology
  • X-ray and metal detection systems
  • gamma-ray and backscatter inspection systems
  • cargo container and vehicle inspection facility design
  • secure communications systems
  • command and control systems
  • in-ground and above-ground vehicle barrier systems
  • human factors
  • guard force requirements
  • personnel training
ASI uses innovative approaches in these fields, emphasizing the need to apply and adapt state-of-the-art technology and processes to individual circumstances -- not the reverse. Generic examples of our unique solutions are shown in the Section on charts and diagrams.
